The brand identity is a beautifully simple design highlighting a key aspect of the story behind the name, Crossing Point. The grapes, as they are planted today, marks the ancient site of the original crossing point for the Maori tribes across the Waikato River. It was perceived to be the narrowest part allowing fallen trees or old canoes to be used as a footbridge; “a slight and rather perilous bridge” as it was described in 1842. We also drew on some of the key elements of this journey for ancient tribes and turned the wine label into a hieroglyphic style design to tell the story.
